New Features for January 2017! |
- Launch Angle: The system will now calculate the 'Launch Angle' and the 'Flight Angle'. The inital launch angle is calcualted from the first two readings (Club ball interaction) and the flight angle is the point at which the ball is no longer interacting with the surface. Remember, the golf ball may be sitting in its own depression, but what effect does this have on the flight angle of the golf ball.

- Club Data:
The face angle graph will now expand (double click) to maximise the graph. In addition a graphical representation of the face angle can be seen below along with the Face Angle colour regions.

- Calculation of the Address Position: The system will now calculate the 3D position of the clubface at address (face angle, shaft angle and lie angle) when you press 'Start Putt'. We have also added a self-timer for the start putt to enable a single user to analyse their address position. The address position data is displayed in the club graphics tab at the bottom of the main screen.
- Calculation of the Impact position relative to Address: The system will also calculate the face, shaft and lie angle at impact relative to your address position. This is displayed in brackets in the club graphics tab on the main screen.

-
Calculation of Rifle Spin (the third component of spin) – The ball’s forward/backspin and the side-spin have historically been reported within golf. However, the third component of spin, rifle spin, has rarely been discussed. If a putt has an element of rifle spin then this is more likely to ‘knock’ the ball off-line compared to side-spin. The Quintic Ball Roll System now calculates this component of spin and displays this on the main screen.
- Calculation of the Ball’s Initial Total Spin: As we are able to display all three components of spin on the ball we are now able to calculate the ball’s initial total spin. This is also displayed on the main screen.
-
Graphical display of the Ball’s three-dimensional spin: We have now added a third graphical tab at the bottom of the main screen which visually displays the three components of the ball’s initial spin, together with the ball’s total spin. We have also added the ball’s true spin axis for the total spin, which varies depending on the relationship between the three components of spin.
- Edit Initial 3D Spin: To help in the education and understanding of the three components of spin and their effect on the total spin, we have developed Edit Initial 3D Spin which allows you to interpret how changing the three components of spin alters the ball’s spin axis. This is displayed in the Ball Data tab.
