Hi-Tec Golf : CDT Power Shoe
MORE GRIP, LET IT RIP! |
|
"Quintic
are pleased to have been involved in the biomechanical
analysis and development of the Hi-Tec and Padraig Harrington
Golf Shoe. ‘CDT’ technology will enable all golfers, amateur
to professional, to benefit from improved stability and
balance during their golf swing”.

“I’ve always known there’s an art to golf, but there’s
also a science. For over two years, I’ve worked alongside
Dr Paul Hurrion from Quintic
Sports Science Consultancy and Duncan Patmore from Hi-Tec
to perfect the shoe’s biomechanics.”

THE BIOMECHANCIAL FACTS
| The Longitudinal Stability Index
– The longer a player’s centre of gravity can continue towards
the target, the more energy is directed there – improving
efficiency and accuracy. This measurement is referred to
as the Longitudinal Stability Index (LSI). |
THE RESULTS
The graph below plots the results
of Padraig Harrington hitting a 5-iron under three different
test conditions:
[Blue line] Padraig in bare
feet achieves an LSI rating of 65%
[Pink line] Padraig wearing
Hi-Tec Custom V-Lite shoes achieves an LSI rating of 78%
[Yellow line] Padraig wearing
the new CDT Power shoes achieves an LSI rating of 94% |

CONCLUSION
The CDT Power shoes concentrate energy on the same centre of gravity for 94% of
the time –
improving both the power and the accuracy of
his swing. |
