Please note: The successful running of the high-speed camera is dependent on the computer specifications. Full resolution recording from the Basler A602fm cameras requires 30 mb/s of sustained disk write speed bandwidth in order that 100% of the frames are written. Any computer using Quintic Basler high-speed capture must have a write speed of >30 Mbytes per second (30mb/s). Computers with ‘Write Speeds’ below 30mb/s may result in dropped or lost frames. Additional hard drives with write speeds of >30 Mbytes can be purchased.

1) Please CLICK the 'Disk Speed.exe' icon below to calculate the write speed of your computer.
2) CLOSE ALL OTHER PROGRAMS
3) Please SELECT the required disk drive you will use to capture Quintic High-Speed Basler (Usually C Drive)
4) A cumulative write speed of above 30 mb/s is required for capturing Basler WITHOUT dropping frames.
5) After running the Disk Speed Test, a file temp.bim will be created in the same directory as the Disk Speed.exe.
6) Please run the disk Speed program 6 times and calculate the average write speed. (Note: The file temp.bin can be deleted afterwards). In the example below, the write speed is of the C: Drive is 42.80mb/s.

A 6 pin to 6 pin firewire lead is required to power the Quintic High-Speed Basler software & camera. Laptop computers require an External Firewire Hub / Repeater (see details below). The FireWire 6-Port Hub or the 6 pin FireWire connection on your desktop connects seamlessly with your Quintic High-Speed Basler. This enables the camera using a 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable to draw power from the Hub, for even easier setup and operation. The 6-Port Hub also acts as a FireWire repeater, so you can position your camera up to an additional 30 feet (10 meters) from your computer.

A FireWire 6-Port Hub will be supplied with your camera & software if your laptop has a write speed of >30 Mbytes (see below for technical specifications): Part # F5U526-APL : Belkin FireWire 6-Port Hub supports data throughput of up to 400Mbps.
